Beyond Liquid Glass

2025 was the year of the introduction of Apple's new design: Liquid Glass.
Chart Your Music rapidly adapted to incorporate the new design; one of the benefits when you stick to Apple's guidelines on how to develop applications, and don't use too many fancy exotic artefacts. The required modifications were simple and straightforward.
Most of the SF Symbols tweaks made in the app (applying hierarchical effects, for example) were reverted and the orange accent color was played down in the app in favour of standard recommended color schemes.
Some small, mostly cosmetic, UI improvements have been rolled out in updates over the last couple of months and some bugs have been fixed. Also, the website just has been updated to reflect the updated Liquid Glass UI in the app.
In the new year focus hopefully will be on the improvement of the search functionality for the app. The plan is to make the search a more central part of the app, serving as the main interface to find new music, pick existing entries not part of your chart, or query your collections for specifics about an artist or album.
If you do have any feedback or comments let me know. If you do like the app, please show your appreciation in the app store.
All the best for 2026!
